Lucas Lipari-Mayer

Trumpet

Born in Paris into a French Italian-Hungarian family, Lucas Lipari-Mayer was named soloist of the Ensemble intercontemporain in June 2018. In September 2018, he was a semi-finalist in the ARD competition in Munich; in October 2018, he won 1st prize and the public prize at the Città di Porcia International Trumpet Competition (Italy) and in November 2019, 1st prize at the Théo Charlier International Competition (Belgium) as well as at the 2nd Prize at the Werner Preis in 2022.

Since then, he has regularly appeared as a soloist with great orchestras such as SemperOper Dresden, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Orchestra della RAI, Münchner KammerOrchester, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Orchestra di Padova, Jeju Philharmonic, under the baton of conductors like Vladimir Jurowski, Ilan Volkov, Matthias Pintscher and Denis Russell Davies.

At the same time, he performs with various groups and orchestras in France and internationally:  Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Dresden Semperoper, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Teatro La Fenice, Malmö All Star Brass Ensemble, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, Carillon Quartet and the Los Angeles-based experimental company: The Industry.

He also regularly plays in a trumpet-singing or trumpet-organ duo as part of various cultural events (Bach Festival, events in Saint-Eustache with Thomas Ospital).

Lucas is a member of the Bacchus brass quintet. He is regularly asked to record film scores, such as a concerto the Oscar-winning composer Elliot Goldenthal dedicated to him.

Since 2023, Lucas has also been a professor at the Conservatoire of the 7th arrondissement of Paris.
