The Maiden from the Sea<\/em>.\u00a0Une cr\u00e9ation\u00a0inspir\u00e9e\u00a0par une c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pi\u00e8ce du th\u00e9\u00e2tre n\u00f4, <em>Futari Shizuka<\/em> (\u00ab <em>Les deux Shizuka<\/em> \u00bb), \u00e0 partir de laquelle l\u2019auteur et metteur en sc\u00e8ne Oriza Hirata a imagin\u00e9 un livret qui aborde m\u00e9taphoriquement la trag\u00e9die des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s traversant la\u00a0<\/span>M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e au p\u00e9ril de leur vie.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le chaos sur son bureau est grand, quand bien m\u00eame Toshio Hosokawa ne travaille jamais \u00e0 plus d\u2019une pi\u00e8ce \u00e0 la fois. Il veut avoir le pass\u00e9 et le pr\u00e9sent devant ses yeux. Pouvoir puiser dans toutes les ressources pour composer, dans les livres et les images, travailler avec les forces qui le touchent humainement et l\u2019animent. L\u2019essence de sa musique est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par la nature\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0J\u2019aime la nature<\/em>, dit le compositeur. <em>Ma musique na\u00eet d\u2019une correspondance avec la nature. Sans elle, tout est vou\u00e9 \u00e0 la destruction. \u00bb<\/em>\u00a0Toshio Hosokawa vit au bord de la mer \u00e0 Nagano. Il compose dans une maison en bois avec vue sur l\u2019oc\u00e9an, et c\u2019est de l\u00e0 que le sujet de son nouvel op\u00e9ra s\u2019impose \u00e0 lui : les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s. La mer qui les porte ou les engloutit. L\u2019espoir et la mort, \u00e9troitement li\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ensembleinter.com\/accents-online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/hosokawa-WEBMAG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"340\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">C\u2019est l\u2019actrice de th\u00e9\u00e2tre n\u00f4 Ryoko Aoki qui, la premi\u00e8re, a eu l\u2019id\u00e9e de cet op\u00e9ra de chambre, <em>Futari Shizuka. The Maiden from the Sea<\/em>. Rare femme dans un univers du N\u00f4 domin\u00e9 par les hommes, elle s\u2019est donn\u00e9 pour mission d\u2019associer aux vieilles pi\u00e8ces du r\u00e9pertoire n\u00f4 des histoires d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui. Une mission pour laquelle elle cherche le soutien de musiciens et de compositeurs. Toshio Hosokawa et Ryoko Aoki se connaissent depuis dix ans. Pour l\u2019actrice, la musique du compositeur r\u00e9sonne de mani\u00e8re id\u00e9ale dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re du N\u00f4. Car, l\u00e0 aussi, l\u2019art na\u00eet du silence, du simple \u00ab \u00eatre l\u00e0 \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ensembleinter.com\/accents-online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/aoki-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"365\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">L\u2019id\u00e9e de Ryoko Aoki pour cet op\u00e9ra de chambre consistait \u00e0 repr\u00e9senter les pens\u00e9es et les sensations de la protagoniste \u00e0 travers une sorte de voix int\u00e9rieure. L\u2019inspiration est venue d\u2019une pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre N\u00f4, <em>Futari Shizuka<\/em>\u00a0: \u00ab Shizuka \u00bb est le nom d\u2019une danseuse, \u00ab Futari \u00bb veut dire deux. Dans son nouvel op\u00e9ra, la chanteuse et l\u2019actrice incarnent toutes deux cette m\u00eame personne.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9j\u00e0 travaill\u00e9 avec Oriza Hirata pour l\u2019op\u00e9ra <em>Stilles Meer<\/em> (2015), Toshio Hosokawa a fait une nouvelle fois appel \u00e0 lui pour le livret, en anglais, de cette cr\u00e9ation.\u00a0Stilles Meer, qui avait pour sujet les dangers de l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire, t\u00e9moigne de la volont\u00e9 de Toshio Hosokawa de traiter de certains des grands probl\u00e8mes contemporains, d\u2019\u00e9veiller les consciences, et de faire entendre notre voix int\u00e9rieure. Et c\u2019est bien ce \u00e0 quoi il s\u2019emploie avec <em>Futari Shizuka<\/em>. <em>The Maiden From the Sea<\/em> : Helen, la \u00ab petite fille de la mer \u00bb, se tra\u00eene jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la plage. On pense imm\u00e9diatement \u00e0 l\u2019un de ces enfants venus d\u2019Afrique du Nord et rejet\u00e9s sur les plages de Gr\u00e8ce ou de Turquie. Elle a perdu son fr\u00e8re en mer.
