Sa famille a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cim\u00e9e dans les camps (\u00e0 l\u2019exception de sa m\u00e8re qui a miraculeusement surv\u00e9cu), il a connu la terreur, l\u2019antis\u00e9mitisme, l\u2019exil. Il livre avec son <em>Requiem<\/em> (qui sera jou\u00e9 le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ensembleinter.com\/fr\/concert-1130-Le-Grand-Macabre.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">7 d\u00e9cembre 2018 \u00e0 la Philharmonie de Paris<\/a>) un t\u00e9moignage poignant, une r\u00e9flexion musicale et philosophique sur la mort, dont le langage musical reste toujours aussi actuel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"legend\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accentsonline.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/DSCF6647-article.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"609\" \/><br \/>\nPage du manuscrit du Requiem<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Introitus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">L\u2019\u0153uvre commence par une longue tenue s\u00e9pulcrale, magmatique, oscillante, qui charrie ses harmoniques comme la lave les rochers, dessinant une ligne d\u2019horizon grave et d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9e. Comme si la phrase au fronton de l\u2019Enfer de Dante \u00ab\u00a0Toi qui entres ici abandonne toute\u00a0esp\u00e9rance\u00a0\u00bb \u00e9tait traduite en musique par un orchestre inou\u00ef, parmi les plus effroyablement abyssaux de l\u2019histoire de la musique. On pense aux <em>Pinturas Negras<\/em> de Goya, quand Ligeti disait lui composer avec <em>\u00ab\u00a0une lumi\u00e8re noire\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. Ces sons coagul\u00e9s des tr\u00e9fonds orchestraux et des limbes du ch\u0153ur d\u2019hommes, sous leur apparence statique, s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8vent imperceptiblement, diluent leur noirceur pour gagner peu \u00e0 peu un nouvel \u00e9tat harmonique stationnaire, un purgatoire acoustique.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sa7h7TwJzaM\" width=\"492\" height=\"273\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Kyrie<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Commence alors le <em>Kyrie<\/em>, le mouvement qui demanda le plus de temps de composition. Pour reprendre une image ch\u00e8re \u00e0 Ligeti, \u00e9couter ce <em>Kyrie<\/em>, c\u2019est un peu comme se plonger dans la contemplation d\u2019un tapis persan. C\u2019est tenter de comprendre les raffinements de son tressage, l\u2019itin\u00e9raire de ses fils, l\u2019histoire de son tissage ; mais avec Ligeti, c\u2019est aussi percevoir la danse des \u00e9lectrons qui le composent, le chaos des particules et les oscillations des cordes quantiques. Ligeti tisse sa musique, point contre point, avec un art qui le place dans la lign\u00e9e des grands ma\u00eetres de la Renaissance et du contrepoint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JWqxPp6SvMw\" width=\"492\" height=\"273\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Il soumet sa composition \u00e0 des r\u00e8gles effarantes de complexit\u00e9, invent\u00e9es par lui et pour lui. Mais dans le m\u00eame temps, il enterre cet \u00e9difice polyphonique prodigieux sous un terrible chaos vocal, o\u00f9 les voix, divis\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame, se heurtent dans des rythmes irrationnels, et errent dans des espaces confin\u00e9s. Ce <em>\u00ab\u00a0tissu vocal mou\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, d\u00e9chir\u00e9, port\u00e9 par la <em>\u00ab\u00a0charpente dure\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> des interventions de l\u2019orchestre, qui pose des notes comme des piliers sonores dans un temple en ruine, ce <em>\u00ab\u00a0tourbillon fig\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, cette impression vertigineuse d\u2019\u00eatre pris dans une toile d\u2019araign\u00e9e immense, Ligeti l\u2019appelle <em>\u00ab\u00a0micro-polyphonie\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. On ne sort pas indemne de ce labyrinthe, de cette exp\u00e9rience hors norme, celle du chaos perceptif, comme si l\u2019on pouvait en un instant percevoir toutes les plaintes du monde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">De Die Judicii Sequentia<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">On p\u00e9n\u00e8tre alors dans le c\u0153ur de l\u2019\u0153uvre, le <em>dies irae<\/em>. La musique se fait soudainement violente, <em>\u00ab\u00a0exalt\u00e9e, hyper dynamique et effr\u00e9n\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. Au contraire des mouvements pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents, homog\u00e8nes, visqueux, on se trouve soudainement face \u00e0 une musique cr\u00fbment picturale <em>(\u00ab\u00a0comme un livre d\u2019images color\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb)<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ApdYpaPamMs\" width=\"492\" height=\"273\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>\u00ab\u00a0Les complexes polyphoniques denses et concentr\u00e9s du grand ch\u0153ur et de l\u2019orchestre, les passages chorals homophones sotto voce, les ch\u0153urs a capella radieux et lointains, les voix des solistes perdues dans l\u2019espace apparemment infini de la musique alternent abruptement, s\u2019interp\u00e9n\u00e8trent et forment en se compl\u00e9tant une polyphonie de formes et de types musicaux.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> Les voix chantent <em>\u00ab\u00a0avec l\u2019extase la plus extr\u00eame<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em> \u00bb<\/em>, d\u00e9chirent le tissu orchestral, se d\u00e9sarticulent sur des intervalles vertigineux, et nous assaillent de texte. C\u2019est une musique volatile, convulsive, explosive, gesticulante, grotesque et tragique comme un tableau apocalyptique de Brueghel l\u2019ancien.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accentsonline.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/A3XK8P.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"legend\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Pieter Brueghel, le Triomphe de la Mort (1562)<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Lacrimosa<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>\u00ab\u00a0Le Lacrimosa est comme un regard en arri\u00e8re, tr\u00e8s \u00e9loign\u00e9 dans le temps et dans l\u2019espace, sur les \u00e9v\u00e9nements musicaux ant\u00e9rieurs\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Le Lacrimosa commence dans une ambiance post-apocalyptique. L\u2019effectif a \u00e9t\u00e9 souffl\u00e9 par la violence primale du 3e mouvement, ne restent que 2 solistes, et un orchestre r\u00e9duit. L\u2019orchestration conduit la musique \u00e0 une <em>\u00ab\u00a0sorte d\u2019\u00e9garement dans un cr\u00e9puscule vitreux\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, tandis que le temps est comme h\u00e9b\u00e9t\u00e9, chancelant, ralenti \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Nu3yaMXedWo\" width=\"492\" height=\"273\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ce qu\u2019a si bien saisi Stanley Kubrick, qui, en int\u00e9grant des extraits du <em>Requiem<\/em> dans son film <em>2001 l\u2019Odyss\u00e9e de l\u2019espace<\/em>, l\u2019a fait d\u00e9couvrir au monde entier (Ligeti compris, car il n\u2019en avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 inform\u00e9 &#8211; ce qui vaudra aux deux g\u00e9nies des d\u00e9m\u00eal\u00e9s judiciaires, mais aussi une reconnaissance mutuelle) ; ce qu\u2019a si bien saisi Kubrick donc, c\u2019est qu\u2019il y a dans cette musique une transcendance, une dimension surhumaine, cosmique.
